Vote No on Kubs

Kubs Lalchandani is asking for our trust to serve as CU Regent.
But it’s shockingly clear he doesn’t represent our values.

Lalchandani is a Florida “crypto bro” who’s made a killing defending botched butt lifts. Is he really the person we want guiding the future of higher education in Colorado?

Lalchandani represents the Trump-aligned crypto world.

• Lalchandani represents crypto.com1, which was being investigated by the SEC under the Biden Administration.

• After Trump was elected, the company gave $11 million to Trump political operations and announced partnerships with Trump Media. Three days later, the SEC investigations were dropped.2

• On his own crypto podcast, Lalchandani said he "represents some of the biggest crypto companies in the world.”3

Lalchandani has profited from defending botched plastic surgeries that left patients with serious injuries — as well as from distributors of illegal pornography.

• Lalchandani has represented several plastic surgery centers who have killed or seriously maimed patients.4

• Local and national news have quoted him as defending clinics who were under scrutiny for botched procedures, specifically Brazilian Butt Lifts and breast implants that resulted in death or serious injury.5

• According to a Florida news report, Lalchandani also made a name for himself in Miami by defending hundreds of people who downloaded or shared illegal pornography content.6

CU Regents should have deep ties to CU and our community–not someone just looking to run for office

• Lalchandani has spent most of his professional life outside of Colorado and still listed Miami as his address as recently as this year.789

• In 2018, he unsuccessfully ran for office in Florida, where he was criticized for skipping voting in more than a dozen elections.10 After coming in third place, he picked up and moved to Colorado.11

• The majority of Lalchandani’s fundraising is from outside of Colorado and much of it is linked to the corporate interests he represents, such as crypto and plastic surgery centers.12

At a time when higher ed and Colorado are under attack, we deserve a qualified, ethical regent who will look out for CU’s future — not someone who’s looking out for the interests of Trump crypto companies or predatory industries.
